Description

The McLarty Treasure Museum is a great little museum that paints the story of the ill-fated 1715 fleet of eleven Spanish galleon ships laden with gold, silver, copper and riches as they were heading back to Spain.

All eleven ships sank close to shore in a hurricane.  This museum is located south of the Sebastian Inlet State Park on part of the former site of the “Survivors & Salvager’s Camp – 1715 Fleet.”

Exhibits and video recount the history of the 1715 Spanish treasure fleet and displays feature artifacts, replicas for sale, and an observation deck on the Atlantic Ocean.

More than 300 years later, salvagers still work offshore in hope of recovering the “Queen’s Jewels.”

The museum is open from 10am to 4pm seven days a week, except holidays

Admission is $2.  Free for children under 6.
